Student and Early-Career Mentoring Program

This year, we are excited to offer a mentoring option for early-career researchers and students. To make the process seamless, participants can indicate during registration whether they would like to apply for mentorship or act as a conference buddy for a younger colleague.

We suggest focusing on the following two topics, although pairs are free to explore other areas as well:

  • Networking guidance: Mentors are encouraged to introduce their mentee to at least two of their professional contacts during the conference.
  • Research feedback: Mentors may listen to their mentee’s current research and offer feedback on presentations or future publications if welcome.

Mentoring pairs will be introduced no later than two weeks before the conference.

Time Commitment and Format

We envision a flexible approach that requires approximately 30–60 minutes of time:

  • Initial introduction: Reach out to your mentee/mentor once pairs are announced.
  • In-person meetup: Organize a brief meeting at the start of the conference.
  • Optional feedback: Provide guidance on posters or presentations if welcomed.

This small investment of time can make a significant impact, helping younger participants navigate the conference and gain confidence in a potentially new environment.
